Mary Daborn (1st gup), Charlotte Blair (5th Gup) and David Blackwell (5th Gup) from Hamilton club along with many others from the Midlands region competed in the coloured belt tournament at the weekend in Papamoa, Tauranga. The event was a fundraiser for Sheri-Jane Lander’s sister to raise money for the Save the children charity and was well attended. The event was very well supported by the regions senior black belts donating their time to help out. There was even a good representation from Gisborne with the Cale Family plus others travelling up to attend and even claim some of the medals 
Congratulations to Charlotte Blair for winning the best overall green belt division with a win in her sparring division (against Mary in the final ) and a 2nd placing in green belt patterns.
The event was very well run and everyone enjoyed the day.
