About ITFNZ (Rebranded to International Taekwon-do July 2010)
The International Taekwon-Do Foundation of New Zealand (ITFNZ) is an Incorporated Society comprised of about 60 affiliated clubs throughout the country. ITFNZ is recognised by SPARC and is run by an elected Board of Directors, assisted by a Management Committee of instructors elected to represent the six ITFNZ regions. ITFNZ holds regular gradings for both coloured and black belts, runs tournaments throughout the year, and offers camps and seminars for those who wish to participate.
ITFNZ is affiliated to the International Taekwon-DO Federation (ITF) whose headquarters are in Quebec, Canada. ITFNZ regularly sends teams to the ITF Junior and Senior world Championships, and we have produced several world champions and medalists. At the last world championships in 2009 New Zealand was ranked 2nd best nation behind the host nation Argentina. In 2011 New Zealand will host the World champs in wellington.
